Yer wonderful

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

MUTE PROTAGONISTS

What are good ways to do it? I'm doing what I can with facial expressions, body language, and describing the thought process, but can anyone offer up things to keep in mind?

Before I toss out any ideas, are you thinking of playing a 'silent protagonist'-style mute character, or a character who actually can't speak?

One who technically can speak, but canonically does not ever.

Speaking as someone who has played several mute characters, I'll mostly just leave some OOC advice, since if you're using good facial expressions, body language, etc, you're already on the right track.

Communicate a TON. I cannot emphasis this enough. Do it even more so than usual with any RP partners. A lot of people would tell me that they honestly didn't know how or where the thread was going because the writing wasn't making the point the character had in mind clear enough. While IC confusion is going to happen a lot, always make sure OOC, everyone knows what the character is trying to say.
