Bless your heart

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

To clarify, after 20 weeks, it's not feasible to do an abortion at all except in extenuating circumstances, which is what I think you're talking about anon?

Because the way the media's covering it, it seems like the Filibuster was to allow any and all post-20 week abortions to happen, not just the ones under the extenuating circumstances clause.

Plurk would murder you because you are so painfully uninformed.

Nearly all abortion done after 20 weeks are for extenuating circumstances.. They are very rare. Week 20+ abortions account for only 1.6% of all abortions and are usually done when the fetus is severely deformed or threatens the life of the mother. They are expensive and few clinics perform them. You cant just casually walk down and get one. These abortions happen to women who want their child and are tragic. Plus as for safety, abortions are safer than giving birth.

Here some facts from the esteemed Guttmacher Institute http://www.guttmacher.org/pubs/fb_induced_abortion.html
