IC inboxes make no sense at all because the devices aren't portable. All your character would be doing is arriving home, and seeing they have a message waiting for them. It would work if there was portability included, but I get the feeling IC inboxes are only even included when they haven't been a choice before is so the mods can do as they please with their characters.

none of these things have been a choice before bro. they are all brand spanking new.

and i want ic inboxes because i have chatty characters and this way they can talk to individual people without spamming up the comms. i don't want to make a post every time someone wants to talk to someone else, and i don't want to do one catch all post because what if they want to talk at different times of the month?

if you don't want to use an ic inbox (assuming they happen) don't put one up. if you have a character who can't read the text for whatever reason and translating isn't implemented, have them ask someone else to translate for them or the poster to summarise in voice/video. instant cr opportunity /o/

IC inboxes were suggested by a player (and backed by several more) in a public plurk and given the overwhelming approval in the OOC poll I'd say it has nothing to do with 'the mods doing as they please'.
