rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. (Anonymous) 2013-06-09 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)you can fake that functionality with post filtering? it wouldn't count for AC anyway so just toss up a post in your journal all "hey filter a post to my character and we'll thread it here" so it doesn't clog up the comm if you want it that bad? I've used the inbox all of twice out of several games I've been in that had them so maybe I just don't get it
i like portability, but it strikes me as something with limited use - especially since the character wouldn't be able to reply on the portable device. i think it could be used well during plots though
meanwhile text translation would be solving a problem that is exclusionary for a lot of characters (although i have enjoyed seeing the odd thread where someone uses writing in another language as an extra measure of security, or to be an ass to someone,) especially seeing as there are a few characters who literally don't know the same language as anyone else in the game?
i'll admit it though, mostly i'm pissy because i don't understand why so many people are voting for inboxes
