Born in sin come on in

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

Not anon for credibility

Hi there! I just want to make it clear that I won't assume anyone is a whiner from this thread. I deal purely in IC interactions, and so do Tohko- and Zelda-muns. There's nothing to lose from just giving it a shot. Talk to anyone else already involved and see how it goes!

I agree with the above anon in a way. You really need to make an OOC post so you can openly show people are welcome and have a public record of who wants to join.

I've tried to have a character show interest ICly only to get threaddropped and ignored.

In RP, communication is key and if you guys don't open up for plotting purposes, don't be surprised when people think you're a clique.

Sorry I wasn't clear, when I said we "deal purely in IC interactions," I meant that we don't judge based on OOC happenings like this thread, not that we aren't open to plotting!

The only problem with this is that resistances tend to be low key and some of them, including this one, form off the cuff. We've all been playing this resistance thing mostly by ear, since it formed in the first place because of three characters acting independently of one another. I'll bring up the idea of an OOC post with the others though, and we'll see what we can work out!

As for the threaddropping, it wasn't me, was it? I only tend to drop a thread if I feel like it's a good end for it, so if it's something you want to continue with me, then drop me a PM and a link to the thread and I'll try to figure out a response!

EDIT: Also the head mod has said in a player's plurk about this that they plan to have more administrator-player contact, so this one resistance group probably won't be the only mover. Make of that whatever you will.

If one thing is clear from this thread, even if it all looks like whining, it's that there is a lot of things people don't know and they feel shut out because of it. A replurked plurk isn't going to help communication since the whole game either can't see it or just doesn't have plurk.

There's no real discussion to be had though about an OOC post. You clearly need one to at least discuss the way things stand or at least an information post detailing things in one of your journals that people can be linked to.

This may have become bigger than you guys expected but if you want to keep it up, as players, you should step up to the challenge of making sure there are open communication channels and who can be approached. Because from the complaints I see here, that's something that hasn't happened at all.

Communication is key, I cannot emphasize that enough. Give people an open place to see things and be able to talk and I guarantee anyone who wants to be involved won't feel left out.

Actually, there is a discussion to be had, albeit minor - mostly logistics. Zelda-mun is burned out from the major events, you see, so she won't be up to plotting at this moment.

We're talking about when to do this (so Zelda-mun has time to recover and it doesn't get swept away by efforts to focus on the monster event), but one will be going up. Either later this month or next month depending on how heavy the modplot load is.

I can tell you with certainty that next month, this guy will be making a bigger effort ICly to get more people in the know because Glamour Failure was a kick in the pants. He may even make more (less clumsy) veiled attempts at it this month, but he's kind of rusty at this reaching out to other people thing.

I hope that helps ease some of your concerns, anon(s).

I don't think you're catching what I'm saying.

People in the game don't even know that Zelda isn't the only leader.

Saying that she isn't on your plurk is the equivalent of preaching to the choir because all your friends probably already know that by virtue of being your friend on plurk.

You need to make a post somewhere IN PUBLIC saying "These people are the movers and shakers. Their plurk is (blahblahblah), AIM is (blahblahblah), and they can be PMed at (blahblahblah). Zelda's player is currently burned out so please direct your plot related questions to (blahblahblah)."

That's all you need. You don't need to plot. You need to open up your lines of communication because they simply don't exist right now.

It has nothing to do with IC. It has nothing to do with plotting. It has everything to do with transparency in a place that is readily accessible to everyone so confusion like what we see in this thread doesn't happen again.

Thanks for the clarification. None of us have managed to wind up in a position like this before so bear with us.

The post is up now!

Thanks. As a player who dropped the game due to the frustrations of being excluded despite numerous attempts this is great to see. People better take advantage of it and you guys better step up to welcoming them after supporters showed their ass here.
