Oh gosh, there are just so many. Everyone I've tagged so far has just been a dream. I really love it here a lot. Some of my favorites are Blake, Oswald, Cas, Toothless, Balthazar, Aramis, River. There are just so many. I am just going to stay and tag everyone forever, the end.

i joined recently and it's making me feel very unwelcome to come in and see players complaining about it on plurk and having another directly blame the upswing in new players as a reason they need to hiatus because apparently it's too overwhelming for them

I agree with most of this, but not the hiatus thing. I don't think that was intended to come off as complaining. Every time I make an open post now, I feel overwhelmed and I'm not even one of the popular players. I can understand feeling overwhelmed and needing a break.

Anon, I think you got something mixed up there. One of our most active and open players had to hiatus because a very fast influx of castmate she loves to have around (and enabled some of them herself even) ramped up her tag count, coupled with a busy work situation. She's on hiatus to recharge batteries and tag with new vigor, not because there are new players in general. Plus, she's a new-ish player as well.

If you want to blame this on anyone, blame this on the really old players who have complained openly that the game is growing too big, too fast, too whatevertheydon'tlike.

I know I recently took a hiatus, but I'd like to clarify that I definitely don't blame the new players in any way shape or form. It's the pace itself that caught me off guard and I didn't manage it properly. I hope I didn't make any of the new players feel unwelcome in my hiatus post, and if I did I sincerely apologize.

i've been pretty behind on my tags lately because life has been a wild ride, but it's never been scheduled-in-advance enough for me to go on official hiatus

but some of the tags i'm behind on are from newer players and i'm a little afraid that they'll think i'm not tagging them back because i'm a hateful oldie

I'm curious. I've seen a lot of IC comments about how there's suddenly a bunch of new people around. How often did new people used to join?

I joined ~december and for the two months or so after that, it was about 2-3 new characters every two weeks or so and then we started getting new players, and suddenly it grew to 5-10 new characters every week. I think the most we had at one time was like, 19 apps.

and I'm not complaining; I really love that the game has grown so much, but when you go from interacting with basically the same 15-25 people, and then all of a sudden there are 20+ new people, it can get overwhelming. there's going to be a period of adjustment, and I think there has been. the number of new people/characters has been holding steady at about 5 per week, which is a pretty manageable number.

idk seems to me the overwhelming stuff's over. I really enjoy everyone who's joined, also, so idk what the problem is or why people are still making pa comments. if they are making pa comments, because I haven't actually seen any of them.
