they are animated stories with stylized graphics, interesting music, a high death count, and an underlying story of creation gone wrong

the stories aren't similar, but the things that draw me to them are similar

the graphics are different in style, the music genres don't compare, the use of death is different (one for humor, the other for symbolism) and off's story is arguably about something else altogether considering that it's open interpretation

stop comparing homestuck to everything. homestuck is not everything. i say this as a fucking homestuck (not as much as i used to be but point stands). there are valid reasons why people dislike homestucks getting into other shit and this comment is one of them

Eh, apart from those last two, those are kinda broad to the point of being a stretch...if there were any easy connections to be had, I would say that they both play on old video tropes/mechanics and have black humor, but that's about it. I'm surprised it isn't more often compared to Ib, another RPG Maker game that became oddly popular one day.
