The average size women measure (that is, what they should be wearing according to their measurements, not the ill fitting bras they actually do wear) in the US is 30DDD, which is the same cup volume as a 32DD you're wearing. If you consider yourself above average in size, you probably need bigger cups. Having a bra that is tight enough in the band and big enough in the cups helps a lot of women with boob-related back problems.
