Straight to the insults, huh? If you really are Gonsai and not a troll, how about you do one last decent thing as a mod and go explain this to your players on the OOC comm instead of throwing a tantrum? Unless you want all of the players who don't have plurk or visit anoncomms to flail around in the dark until someone else clues them in.

I'm gonna go ahead and assume that it's a troll. Guy's said some pretty crazy things in the past, but that just doesn't sound like him. His foot-in-mouth moments are usually of the more long winded variety rather than petty insults.

Yeah, I figured as much, after the explosion of anons pretending to be Gonsai over at wankgate in the past hour.

Still doesn't excuse their lack of a proper response, though, and I hope they fix that asap.

Honestly, what you're saying is what I wanted to do, but the other mods outvoted me. In fact, I made a lot of alternative suggestions that were veto'd. I mean, I'd still quit no matter how it went down, but the other mods felt this was the best way to go about things, and since I don't control the mod accounts, I had no veto power.

Thanks for logging in to confirm it. At least it's good to know your fellow mods are completely shady and useless jerks who can't even give their playerbase a decent and honest response for all their time in the game.

I'm not throwing them under the bus. I didn't say they refused. Hell, I am 90% sure this was an oversight. But I also really don't care anymore. I've reached the "stressed about RP" plateau and just no longer care. If you want an explanation, their info is still up on the mod contact form.

I'm going to be honest with you man. You really fucking should. They've always let you take the fall for all the drama that comes up both in institute, and in past games. As much of a dick as you are, by now I hate seeing them get off scott-free for so long when they're equally to blame. At least you have the balls to come and say something at all. I'm tired of seeing them throw you under the bus.

I doubt you will because you think there's some kind of loyalty in it, but I guess I wish you realized there isn't.

I dunno if Gonsai considers these people friends but they've clearly been anything but since the idea of this game was being thrown around. They've always let him take the brunt of all the blame while having their other pals pat them on the back and tell them they did a good job.

Right now is a perfect example of that. And I think its happened at least 3 times before.

You're absolute right. It isn't the first time they've done this to him, or to others. I wish he would wake up and smell the backstab, because they've been taking him for a ride for quite some time. And if you'll remember a little game called onorata...

I don't even need to go that far back. I mean, let's look at this.

1. People see Gonsai is going to mod and they throw a fit. Does anyone step up to say something to his defense logged in? No, they just let him take it all. Meanwhile, on plurk, they're patting themselves on the back.

2. Some wankers start complaining about SJW stuff. Does any mod step up and say they all support the decision and everyone needs to step back? No, it's Gonsai who does it and becomes a target.

3. Wank about number of females and Touhous in the game. See above for outcome.

I could keep going. These are just examples of when before the game opened.

Definitely. I'm just also saying that the pattern also extends as far back as onorata. Possibly even further.

I have suspicions of how this maybe went down, but I'll just say that the anon on wankgate who mentioned a probable fight or disagreement or whatever probably isn't far off. I can guess what the likely power dynamics were in this modteam & who the butting heads were.

Look up onorata at livejournal for the old game comm. There are some details about the wank if you google 'onorata wank' and click the first link at anticirclejerk.dreamwidth that should come up, click parent, voila.

Most of the mods of the institute were involved in the huge wank that eventually brought that game to its death, and at least gonsai was one of the mods at the end, I forget if annie and robin were too. Someone else can probably go into more detail about what specifically happened because it's been so long I no longer recall the specifics either (and judging by the anticirclejerk link I'm not alone).

Gender ratio wank was the dumbest thing.

Is there a reason why there is no explanation for the closing on the closing post? It would have been nice to give players time to adjust to the closing but you have at least offered them an explanation for the sudden shut down.
