Use it. Complain to us when they don't listen to you. All of this whining is making my eyes roll so hard they're spinning.

Same thing goes to people complaining about characters that they haven't critted via HMD yet. Use the freaking HMD, that's what it's there for, and if their reaction is bad then whine at us.

I swear that would cut down on at least half of the moronic posts that have been happening in this game thread lately.

I did once. They never listened or did anything. Big ole waste of time so I say complain away.

Then please complain about that specific issue they ignored you on, that is worthy of discussion.

Don't complain about every issue ever when you don't have the gumption to actually offer them feedback on a regular basis because you had one bad experience that you aren't even giving us deets on.

Pretty much. There's always someone who feels like they've never been heard. Sometimes it's justified, sometimes not. Without the context we really can't say here, and the anon probably won't post it because they might feel it 'tips their hand' and makes it obvious who they are. Kind of a catch 22.

Either way, I think it still should go without saying that you're better off trying to politely contact the Amat Mods and offer feedback. If I were betting, they probably don't get half the suggestions we think they do.

That's not what they said at all. They're peeved that people bitch about things without contacting them. "My current pet peeve is anons using the rpanons/wankgate threads to complain about the mods without first contacting them". Ie, the mods were never given a chance to listen in the first place. But they also said, and I quote, that players should "complain to us when they don't listen to you." Which is the exact opposite of what you're tacitly accusing them of saying.

Then I'll recant and question this: Have the moderators become approachable individuals since the Zodion schism?

It's a whole new set of mods since Zodion and I've found them perfectly approachable over the past year and a half especially. While the one I was most comfortable with stepped down, whenever I've left feedback on the appropriate channels, they've always gotten back to me within a couple of days, acknowledged the problem, and explained to me how they will try/are trying to fix it.

This has mostly been for minor stuff, but it makes me comfortable with the thought of going to them with larger problems if I ever had any.

A few of our anons have a serious reading comprehension problem. The above threads are ample evidence to that fact. They tend never to bother to actually read what is said.

People need to stop trying to defend themselves while logged in, it really turns this thread into a mess.

Pet peeve: People who try so vehemently to defend their IC decisions to the anoncomm.

This is pretty much your textbook example for how you shouldn't do logged in comments. It's just a wall of defensiveness that wasn't called for and it's embarrassing to read. And it's not like I even think that there can't be good logged in defenses. There have certainly been classy people in the past that have been able to make a valid point while logged in. This though? Polar opposite of that and it's just embarrassing. Could have been handled a lot better.

Which is definitely the most embarrassing part. In my experiences they haven't been a bad mod either. This tirade though? A fantastic way to undermine that feeling, let me tell you.

On the one hand? You're right. It's pointless to try to defend yourself against anons who say insults like "Are you even human." Shits like that don't deserve responses, no matter how valid their points are.

And yes, if any of my fellow players participated in that inquisition, I'm calling them a shit. The insults I saw don't belong in Amat, and if this is how you feel it's appropriate to treat your fellow players, even when you have a serious grievance, get the fuck out of our game. We don't need you, or your bile.

On the other hand? While I think she should have dropped it a long time ago for her own sake, I can't help but say this. If someone was pissing on my name and calling me "not human" over a god-damned game, yeah I might just have spat right back. In fact, a lot of us probably would have, because that was some god-damned insulting drivel I saw there.

And I think saying "She's a mod" is a bit purile at this point. "Oh, I thought she was a great mod until..."

rpanons is not an HMD. It has never once claimed to be a safe or sterile place to get feedback. You can't even prove that all of these anons are even Amat anons to begin with. This is pretty much a void where you can take feedback as you choose to, and she chose to chase it down and beat the dead horse beyond dead. Yes, that was her decision. Yes, the anons were generally rancid about it. But you? You making threads like this? Doesn't stop it, nor does it discourage it.

You should have done like her and shut off the computer and walked away.

1) No one called her subhuman.
