Hello! I've never done this before but I'm in a bit of financial bind and could use some extra cash, so I've decided to open up icon commissions. :)

you seriously need to get the fuck out with that

echoing other anons. while I understand your need for cash and people's need for icons, I don't understand how it seemed totally OK to make money off of another fan's work that they put their heart into.

fan art is a means of showing appreciation for something that makes a person happy. don't shit on it and the artist more than using the art without the artist's permission already does, brosis. it's extra rude to make a profit off of it on top of using it behind the artist's back.

Hey guys, sorry I didn't get to this until just now. I've been at work all night.

I'll be taking down the fanart icon samples I posted. I'll be honest-- this entire thing was rushed and poorly put together. I wasn't thinking at all when I posted those. I won't be taking any commissions from others with fanart as the source material and I'll be sure to note that in my rules page.

hey man a response like this is much appreciated. no hard feelings. I do see that rule #7 still has mention of fan art at the moment but I'm willing to bet you haven't gotten to it/missed it/applies only to non-commissions.

srs. mass respect for not getting defensive like kiddos on tumblr do when simply provided artist credit to put in their post.

Oh shit, thanks for pointing that out to me. I went ahead and fixed #7. I've used fanart for a lot of my rp journals in the past (I try to credit fanart as much as I can if I can find the source) and I honestly just wasn't thinking when I put this whole thing together. It was really stupid of me.

And hey, no, getting defensive would have made me even more of an asshole, so yeah. Thank you for being polite when you set me straight, though.
