Yeah, that's... a problem I have with the source actually. Once all the heroes know each other it's a bit silly to think they won't jump in to help more often. Oh well.

About the mutant part: are they completely forbidden to say the word 'mutant'? Because as long as they don't name Magneto and the X-men, they would be fine. (Being a good idea or not it's another deal.)

Now I'm reading they're trying to hurry a new Spider-man movie too, because the contract is ending soon and Disney wants the rest of the Marvel heroes. Let's see what happens.

I'm willing to suspend disbelief a bit for the comics, since there are so damn many villains I'm surprised any of the heroes have time to sleep, much less show up for crossover events, but the MCU doesn't have that excuse, and probably never will.

With the whole rights thing, I'm pretty sure Marvel can't even say "mutant" with respect to the characters in the movies. It's a mess. I hear they're trying to negotiate with Sony to get Spidey back, but I have no idea how much of that is just fandom wishful thinking. I am seriously butthurt about Fox still owning the rights to X-Men and Fantastic Four, too. Every Marvel movie they've made has been mediocre to atrocious, and what I'm hearing about Days of Future Past isn't filling me with confidence.

That's actually a nice explanation to suspend dibelief, I'll use it.

And wow, with mutant being such a generic word... yeah, definitely a mess then (good luck at getting the mutant siblings, Whedon). Agree on hating on the F4 movies, but I liked Spidey 2 and X-men 1, 2 and FC. I think it's a hit and miss with Sony, so if Disney/Marvel can take it back, then better.

There was a rumour about going all the way to Civil Wars and even a crossover with DC after they finally make Justice League. They better solve all this rights mess first.

Guessing it's wishful thinking on the fandom's part. As long as Spider-Man and X-Men continue to generate money, Marvel's never getting them back.

They'll probably pick up Ghost Rider and Fantastic Four though. Think those are the only other ones left since Feige confirmed that Daredevil reverted.

Fox is talking about rebooting F4. I hope they can't find anyone willing to direct after the fiasco that was their first attempt. I think if Guardians of the Galaxy does well, Marvel will make a much stronger play to get the F4 rights back even if they don't want to do an F4 movie because they'll want the Cosmic baddies that come with them. Right now they can't use Galactus/the Heralds, the Kree, the Skrull, or Annihilus, which cuts out a huge number of space plots they can sample from.

Looking at what they've got right now, they're probably going to put Infinity Gauntlet, Annihilation, and Thanos Imperative in a blender. Lee Pace is in GotG as an "unnamed villain" and I'm betting on Magus. As long as they're careful, Marvel won't be screwing themselves plot-wise if they can get the F4 back later. They could easily make the Chitauri from the Negative Zone and introduce Annihilus, which would let them do Annihilation. Those giant flying sandworm things are certainly bug-like enough, Loki needed the Cosmic CubeTesseract to open a portal to where they were waiting, Thanos was involved like in Annihilation, etc. etc. That gives them a way to bring in the Kree and the Skrulls, which would let them do the Kree-Skrull War if they wanted to...

...I think about this stuff a lot, okay.
