rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Lin is abrasive, but not to the point that she pushes everyone who matters to her away. It may be hard to find that exact balance. She seems to drop the abrasiveness around children. While she isn't a softie with Tenzin's kids, she is notably nicer with them and even with Pema. Actually, she seems to drop some of the edge in how she speaks to people when circumstances are dire (such as discovering that the metal-bending police had their bending taken away). When things are tense but not dire (such as Amon's threat to attack the pro-bending tournament) she seems to be at her sharpest tongued and unwilling to put up with crap from anyone.

I think the key to playing Lin is to remember that she does care about people and that she is a good person, but that she's also blunt, slow to forgive, and has high standards. She gets snappish and unpleasant when people don't meet those standards.
