what. please tell me this isn't some stupid headcanon to make stiles closer to derek's age.

It's do with his birthday being confirmed as April 8th.

Given Lydia's 16 birthday is shown in the season 2, March 19th, Stiles would either be turning 16, which would raise questions as to why he was allowed to drive, or be turning 17.

As the above anon said. It's to do with his birthday being comfirmed as the one given by The Hunt.

(Not sure if Erica and Boyd got birthdates.)

Pretty sure the main argument for Stiles being held back is that, due to being the Sheriff's son, he probably wouldn't have been allowed to drive at 15.

I have no idea how cut-off dates work in the US so, maybe someone else can try and make sense of it?
