Not really. Your actual lives were objectively real, going home isn't giving in to the Consortium but ignoring them, and said Consortium doesn't rule the multiverse, at least as I understand it. If you were slaves all your lives and didn't know it and the Consortium were the secret masters of every reality rather than a bunch of powerful thugs, then it would be the Matrix.

im not saying its an exact match up, but the reverse jamjar setting idea to the game not even really getting started until people escape from their confinement to the banged up ships to raiding the bad guys for more recruits? shit man, thats the first free humans realizing the truth of the matrix, busting out, building shitty ships and a free city, and occasionally plugging back in and risking themselves to rescue others from the machines.

its not a bad thing, i would do stupid and terrible things for a matrix rp with a similar set up
