I like it. Vaguely reminds me of Spelljammer with the ships that move between universes thing. If nothing else it's a refreshing new take on a jamjar.

When I was originally talking about the game I called the ships Spelljammers, yeah.

My big thing is I don't like that in a normal Jamjar it's vaguely OOC for most characters to not spend all their time focusing on getting out, which is boring since it blocks the forming of CR and frustrating since escaping a Jamjar would normally end the RP.

da, the other you replied to

This one happened to strike me because this is a rare case where I can potentially see the character I'd want to play choosing to stay. Normally he'd want to get back to his duties, but under the right circumstances, participating in this would be a much bigger and more important version of his duties. It mainly depends on whether the approach taken would be pure vigilantism or if he could actually do his job, sanction and all.

Obviously if someone takes up the Mantle of Modship for this they can take it in their own direction but in my mind, initially at least, there wouldn't really be anyone else out there with the balls to stand up to the Consortium. The PCs would be building such a faction from scratch, possibly eventually attracting other organizations to under their banner.

And I actually came up with this idea because of a character I kinda want to play who would just totally fall apart if they were stuck in a regular jamjar game because they're all "GRARH NOT A SLAVE EVER AGAIN FUCK YOU". I think I know where you're coming from there.

As long as there's a path to a justice system that isn't completely undermined by a gamewide "Who the hell cares?/Why do we need to bother?/Get out of the way of our unrestrained vengeance and rebellion!" attitude and an interested character can actually make progress along that path, that's enough for me. Basically, I'd really love to be able to have my character do things related to the kinds of things he did in canon, but most jamjars aren't really compatible with that, not even the city ones that you'd think would be.
