sorry for sounding like an asshole, but i really don't get it - we had pokedressing pretty much dead back in lj, dead here in dw, and the other dr (pokedrifting) is dead too

why are people so crazy about pokedressing coming back? IT NEVER LEFT

want it to be lively again, go use it

well, players have left pd and i think that's what people are looking forward to. the announcement of pd reopening actually draws attention from a lot of players and you can see from the comments that they're excited to play in pd again (presumably seeing their old rp friends are coming back as one of the main reason)

most of the players who made pd active back then have been there for more than 2-3 years and they'd have grown bored/gets into new fandom or something, which is why pd was left inactive. now that they're not bored/wants to get back to pokemon rp, they don't know how to start and what's better than a huge return party?

idk if that makes sense but just dropping my thoughts

easy, you go to any of the drs and post, it's not that hard

this, plus it seems a little weird to post in a dr that's apparently been declared, y'know, closed by the mods. there's pokedrifting i suppose, but i think that one being dead might have to do with people wanting pd to come back so they can post there instead

Vyck's behavior after pokedrifting opened really didn't help with anything there, either. She was staunchly against moving PD to Dreamwidth until pokedrifting actually became a thing that was going to happen, at which point they were SUDDENLY DEFINITELY MOVING TO DREAMWIDTH GUISE XD XD XD

idk about how anyone else saw that but Vyck seemed really goddamn determined to drive a massive rift between PD and pokedrifting.

It wasn't anything like that at all. She realized how bad her comments came across and admitted so in her Plurk, with apologies to Holo and Kiwi and wishing them the best for pokedrifting.

...except Vyck did shit like that all the time. She'd say that she'd not respond to something because she ~panicked~ or she was ~so ashamed~ when she would more often than not use that as a way to avoid taking responsibility for being a complete insensitive fuckwit. It's nice that she could just mute things and then put up an "apology" later where it was incredibly likely that people wouldn't see it, but that isn't how shit generally works.

I'm not whiteknighting for her - she doesn't even RP or go on Plurk anymore - nor am I trying to change your opinion of her, but a "complete insensitive fuckwit" she was not. Were you even around during PD's "glory days", where she was as much responsible for reviving the comm as well as Dal? Her intense organization was admirable and she listened to the playerbase.

Until that corrosive, passive-aggressive, nasty little best friend of hers joined PD. It was then and only then that she started to fall.

Vyck's only mistake was having somebody like Bryrony as a "friend". Besides, she is the past. There is no point in dwelling on her being a supposed "complete insensitive fuckwit" when she hasn't been on the scene for months.

Lets look forward to PD's future, whenever that happens.

Actually, yes, I was. I was also around for the passive-aggressive AIM statuses she would make toward people, the way she made noises about how she'd "try to change" every time she fucked up only to become rude and condescending toward the people who pointed out that she fucked up, the way she threw all her toys out of the crib every time someone did so much as look at picking up Lyra or otherwise even thought about infringing on what she thought was "her" territory, the completely overbearing way she tried to run the comm and refused to consult with any of her co-mods before making changes, and the fact that the best friend you're referring to was there since before she started to mod the comm and so this is a complete fucking moot point.

Were you even around for PD's "glory days"? Because for someone who's supposedly not whiteknighting, you are either completely unaware of how she really was, or you are really up Vyck's ass.

Fuck if I know. But she made a big deal about her ~girls~ and because she was supposedly the first to play Lyra in LJRP or something stupid like that, she used that as an excuse to highlander like crazy and freak the fuck out on people who wanted to pick up the character.

Lyra wasn't the only thing she did this over, either. She got really bitchy toward anyone daring to get involved in things that she deemed "hers," getting territorial to the point that she might as well have just peed on whatever she was obsessing over, it would have gotten the point across just as well.

You will have to take my word on this anon because I am on her friendlist, but she has grown up. She's happier, calmer, less of a bitch. Last I heard of her she was in and out of hospital with terrible health, but was excited about finding a home to share with her boyfriend.

She has moved on and become a better person. Maybe it's time to let go?

The claim that the previous mods made that up would work a little better if Vyck herself hadn't admitted to having done that herself on her LJ. I was on her friendslist for that. She backpedaled and began claiming that the previous mods made it up and admitted over a private venue to spreading it around, but the person who first said anything about her highlandering grossly over Lyra was Vyck herself.

I'm not saying the previous mods weren't shit, because they were. What I'm saying is that Vyck did a good amount to cause a rift between pokedrifting and PD; that is all I have been saying from the start, and those "apologies" were more of her usual backpedaling.

If she admitted to that than fair enough, I'll not dispute that because I'm only on her Plurk. I do know that the first mods did indeed spread that around, mainly on communities Vyck didn't go to. They were nasty pieces of work, the definition of PA.

I believe that Vyck's apologies about pokedrifting were sincere, and Holo accepted them which is the most important thing. I will agree that she could have said sorry on Holo's (Or was it Kiwi's) own Plurk, where everyone could see.

It's a shame this all escalated by that other anon when at the end of it, everyone is entitled to an opinion. I will make this my last comment on the matter, not because I disagree with you (In fact I enjoyed our brief chat), but because she's old news.

Those discrepancies of hers stopped in 2011, the crap with Lyra even earlier. To see the problems brought up again in a fashion that makes her seem she's continuing to do them is harsh and unfair. More so when she doesn't roleplay anymore.

Oh who am I kidding. It's DWRP, where you're not given a chance to redeem yourself. Next thing we know that anon who wanted her to die of cancer will post.

pd wasn't declared dead, but all of the hubbub about it "reopening" gives the impression that it is... not already open right now? otherwise i figured they would just be like "we're switching mods but in the meantime go do whatever".

oh but that doesn't add to the point

that mod post is (kinda) new
