symphonias ova leaves a lot out and plays out like an overblown soap opera. they tried to condense a 60+ hour game into like 4 episodes so it's obviously pretty weirdly paced. it's pretty to look at, though. but i didn't really enjoy it beyond that.

i'd recommend playing the game itself for that one.

abyss iirc has the best anime. it's pretty loyal to the source material and had enough time to cover everything, but i could be mistaken as it's been a looong time since i played and/or watched it. if you have a 3ds you can get it there, but iirc it's cheaper right now to buy the original ps2 game.

into 11 episodes for Symphonia, actually. It's true the first four episodes have hilariously bad pacing, but they tried taking it a little slower after that. Everything's still forced together a little awkwardly from time to time, but they put more effort into it I guess. Also it has great music.
