oh gosh i'm so used to coloring my own stuff i go into super high overlay glossy mode by default, but i'm glad you like my simpler icons!

i toned it down to make it a little softer here. hopefully that's a little less eye searing, anon?

It still looks pretty unnatural - maybe if you used a color closer to the tones for the rest of the face? Make it look a little more blended and natural?

not sure how much of an improvement this is, but i changed the colors to something more brownish to fit and removed the shadows that didn't stick to the original crop like the anon below suggested. hopefully it's less garish now.

look at the icon you're using in this comment, and look at the whore's paint you've put on your sample. see the difference?

i think its the color itself. or at least the saturation of it. it almost looks like she's bleeding.

that said, gorgeous icon!

yeah, the more i edit it the more i notice the original colors were absolutely awful. this is a huge reminder to self to never color things like these like they're on super overlay mode, yikes!
