Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

asked this on the very tail end of the last post, so: "i'm looking into adopting a pet (probably a small reptile because i can't have large animals that require constant exercising). any ideas on where i should look? idk if i should trust craigslist."

i've mostly been considering either a ball python or a rosy boa, both of which i have handled periodically for a few months for educational purposes. i don't work in that department, though, so i'm not completely informed on care.

After doing all the research and getting everything set up, find out if there's a reptile expo anywhere near you coming up. Also, google your area + "herpetological society" and get in contact with them. Go to meets, talk to people, and you'll have no problem finding a well recommended breeder.

PS. The snakes you suggested are not small reptiles. They get to be a meter or longer. Have you considered corn snakes? They do well in limited space and come in some beautiful morphs.

in going with what you said, I suggest looking up Repticon to you, OP. I know this weekend is Atlanta, but they go all over the place. It's where we gotten our Beardies :3

If you've never kept a reptile, don't start with a ball python. They've got a perfect temperament, but they've got pretty specific environmental requirements, can go off their food for literally six months at a time and are picky eaters even when they are eating, and they stress out pretty easily. They're also kind of sickly.

I rec something easy, like lizards that DON'T get big. No iguanas, for instance. Maybe something happy and little like a Gekko. Name him Geico.
