Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

Two not-really-RP questions -

1) does anyone know some good general comms, preferably X-Men-geared? I just want to sit around and analyze things and squee and not get into a million Scott vs Logan arguments.

2) Anyone tried the Marvel Digital Unlimited subscription? I've been using their app for single issues (I love that buying the print copies gives you a free digital copy!), but I have a bunch of back stuff I want to read, and tracking down all the torrents is Effort. I can't find a list of what they actually have up, though.

I got nothing on 1, but I have an Unlimited subscription and I find it's worth my money. It's fucking impossible to navigate, and they just actively made it worse (which was a major feat of web design), but there are a lot of complete runs up there.

The list of their digital stuff is here: http://marvel.com/comics/series. There's a little U icon that tells you if issues are available on the subscription.

Oh, thanks! I figured the listing was up there somewhere, and that I was just missing it.

Is the reading interface different from the regular digital one? I haven't had too many problems with that (though I've mostly been using the phone app)

I haven't had any problems reading! It's more finding shit that's the problem.

The web app is different between the two, and there's a separate phone/tablet app for Unlimited. I have no idea how well it works, because it's only available for iOS and I have Android.

You can grab the MDCU Browser app for Android, which makes it much easier to search than using their slow-ass website. It'll let you click through to the web app if your device can handle Flash.

"Read more classic and newer issues every week — added as soon as 6 months after they hit stores!"

6 months? Does it really take that long?

Yeah. Unlimited's only good for back issues. They want you to buy more recent stuff digitally if you miss it in the stores.
