But little did they know
Rundown:
rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.
Rules:
Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

(Anonymous) 2013-03-18 09:55 am (UTC)(link)I've done impromptu game ideas before and Here's How Not To Be Laughed At About Them.
one.
Get someone to bounce ideas off of. preferably someone who both can play your foil and knows what you want to achieve. I refuse to be this person for you, so please don't ask. Use this person to help understand what would be attractive to people that aren't you in a game. Use this person to help understand what ideas you have are terrible/so much work it'd put a strain on the moderation.
Basically? Have someone to bounce off of. Who will not just be "oh that sounds great". If you think they might be that kind of person, test them and pitch a deliberately terrible idea. Because it's better for you and them both to realize if they're just doing nothing or not.
Two, have a general idea of what the hell you're plotting. People tend to write out a barebones timeline of what they want to happen, because your game will not last forever and trying to make it run forever is practically impossible without ripping off someone else. You are either storybased (which is what you appear to be drawn to) or just slice of life, and unifying both isn't possible without still having to write out a timeline.
Your game will end. Know what will happen along the way. Write out splits if you have to.
three. Be professional. Strive towards professionalism. You are not a shining star among the sky who should always be respected, but you aren't bottom feeder-levels of begging, either. Have some idea of what you're looking for in a moderator or coadmin or whatever you are actually looking for. I have no idea what you're looking for beyond 'someone to help'. What do you need help with? Why? These are rhetorical questions, you don't have to answer them. The point I'm trying to make is, what are you looking for? What do you have?
Here's the problem.
People are laughing at you for two reasons: one, your reputation (which is a good part of 'being a moderator for a game'; your good reputation will motivate people to trust you and join your game; afaik people are giggling at you because of RP wank I'm not going to touch with a ten foot pole), and two, your rpg gives no details on what it is about.
It is a 'post-apoc game that would feature various figures of influence (??? what does this mean ???) drawn to save/restore the world'. Well, let's see. Looking at my memories,
What I'm trying to say is that your game displays a poor lack of both planning and effort. Whatever went on behind the scenes doesn't matter: what you are presenting is a definition that goes on for less then a sentence. Then you beg for help for a poorly explained game, give a link to a community that similarly supplies no details you haven't given here.
Teal dear run rampant, so summary: have someone to talk to about your game, know what you want to do in your game, be a professional person, and try and be more outright about what the sam hell your game is about if you're asking for mods for it.
