rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. I am starting to really hate my main game. I have played there for two years, and I'm friends with like five or six players, and love rping with them. But the game environment is depressing and rife with character torture, and every single plot is dominated by the same in-group of three obnoxiously self-centered people.

One of them is a mod and BFFs with the Head Mod, so these three basically get away with murder constantly. Their characters are ridiculously tangled up with each other; they have no problem with warping canon to fit their constant need to lovefest with each others' characters. Anyone who criticizes them, ignores them, or reacts badly to their shenanigans ICly or OOCly is labeled The Enemy and marginalized, attacked with lists of petty shit during HMDs and otherwise ignored/rolled over ICly while being nitpicked to death OOCly. These three are of course the central clique in game, and have attracted a crowd of hangers-on who seem to think that getting in on the main plots is worth kissing the Clique's ass.

In addition, several of the players past and present have been absolutely filled with crazy. We have two insane SJWs who cannot remember for the life of them that IC=/=OOC, and have UTTERLY LOST THEIR SHIT at innocent players over minor IC things that they completely misinterpreted. We have at least two online stalker/slanderers, one of whom has been going at it for YEARS after leaving the game. We have a head mod who is not only overprotective of her buddy group in-game, but is on a power kick and has an explosive temper.

We've got the obligatory neckbeard obsessed with lesbian sex, we've got the obligatory trainwreck OTPs and bromances whose participants will sacrifice ICness (and the welfare of other characters) to keep them going, and of course we've got one all-around bitch who uses her characters as mouthpieces for her PA hostility.

And then we have a lot of poor schmucks like me, who were drawn in by a great idea and only learned about the place's bad side after playing there for a while. Some of whom are really good RPers, or just cool people OOC. They're the ones I stay for.

But...I don't know how long I can keep doing this. Is it worth it to rp with them and spare their feelings if I end up thrown in with all these other idiots in the process?
