I'm going to give a controversial opinion here. Brace yourself.

I don't think her Natasha is all that IC. The Natasha we've got in CoA is like a grimdark fanfic version of Natasha. She takes her to extremes that were never shown in canon.

Is she good? Yes. Is she well-written? Yes. Can she be described as 'too IC'? No.

this is what I'm saying. She'll take canon characters and explore all the psychological ramifications, and end up with something that I feel goes beyond what the original creators really intended.

CoA is also doing things to characters that we don't see in the canon.

She plays her as slightly enhanced and not dealing well with the fact that processing nerfed that. She started out looking out for a really damaged Clint which messed with her mind. Then she lost Clint. Then she went outside the city and got caught up in that weird magical desert shit. Now I think she's got a bunch of her cover identities in her head and she doesn't know what's real and what's fake.

I would be pretty upset if she was as calm and collected as we tend to see her in the movies. This is more than we see her go through in the movies and she has no backup from S.H.I.E.L.D. or anyone else.

I don't think she's too IC but I also don't think that she's a grimdark version of her. I just think she's dark and circumstances are making that more obvious. If you don't agree with her interpretation of Natasha just don't play with it, but don't try to label it as not IC because some of us really enjoy it.

You sure do know a lot about exactly how she's being characterized, written, and justified. Almost as though you write her yourself! Huh, how about that.

If you pay attention to her posts you'd know what the hell is going on as well. It doesn't take a mindreader (or the mun themselves) to catch on to all of that just someone who wants to know what others are doing.

For the record, I have no OOC contact with the mun nor have I played with Natasha in game. But this is really stupid.

There is a difference between following a character you're interested in and deeply analyzing and knowing everything that makes this particular portrayal click. Anon was the former. Not hard to make the conclusion that it could be the player.

If you think that was deeply analyzing then I think you've got more RP problems than just being a wanker.

Expect that her mun doesn't go to any anon communities unless someone links her to something they think she should see. Not to mention she's been spending all day every day this week at the hospital with her dying grandfather. I seriously doubt any of her friends would have bothered her with this petty shit while she's dealing with that.

Even if they did I seriously doubt she would waste her time arguing about a hobby while something like that is going on. Try again, butthurt anon.

Oh please there's always a sick grandparent or a dead pet or burglary with people like this. It's just a ploy for sympathy. Anyone who says they don't go to anon communities is full of shit. I guarantee she's sitting at home at her computer laughing at all the fighting going on about her.

Maybe she wasn't involved at the very beginning but a sick grandparent is the oldest trick in the book. Next she'll be saying that her dog ate her tags or that her laptop is broken and she needs donations.

Every time wank comes up about Ophelia, it just turns so completely bewildering eventually. You kind of feel like you're arguing with someone who has literal delusions.

You're not coming off well here, particularly when the Natasha player has made no bones about replying to anon criticism logged in in other venues. If she were here to stick up for herself, she wouldn't hide behind anon.

I couldn't give less of a shit about Natasha or her characterization. I'm just another anon who's tracking the thread and thought the comment was pretty suspect-sounding.

Which does nothing to change anything about my point, including the part where you don't sound so good.

Or almost as though I've talked to her player while planning some stuff I wanted to play with her. She will happily give you a rundown of what's going on with Natasha if you ask. I got all that information in a five minute conversation about a week ago. I know most people prefer to just come to rpanons and wankgate and just complain about things they don't like instead of doing something about it but my way works too. Promise!
