Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

ah, that makes more sense, thanks!

regarding your replies to the above anon regarding monsters and networks, you might be able to wrangle monsters/demons as part of the 'other worlds' thing. maybe the magical accident not only pulls characters in, but drags in more monstrous creatures, or opens random or semi-permanent portals to some world full of dangerous beasties? that might be a way to slot them in if you want them.

about the networks, there's always the possibility of characters actually making them themselves! if you have an engineer or tech genius character app in, they may be able to create some kind of rudimentary 'network' device. obviously that would require some wrangling with regards to the supplies aspect (how do i shot motherboard???), but if they could get military backing and funding, it could be interesting.

mmm, multipunk

Ooh, good idea! I want to avoid a "monster of the week" rut, but the occasional interdimensional nasty would be fun to deal with.

Characters from other worlds would definitely be able to bring some of their own technology with them, so if they can figure out how to create rudimentary network, that might actually be kind of neat (assuming that they can find a way to power their fancy devices in a world where home electricity is still a pretty new thing!)

Multipunk kinda makes sense, I think, because the exposure to people from high-tech worlds would inspire in-universe scientists to create weird new inventions using their available knowledge and technology.
