thinking of apping here this month. can anybody give me some info about this place? i want to app someone who won't have castmates in game at the time when i app, so how good is it for creating cross-canon CR?

EV's got almost no medium divide, so you'll be set on that regard. The game's getting to that kind of size where you'll need to actively get involved in what's going on to get the cr ball going, but the good news is there's always a lot to do. Everyone's pretty chill.

echoing what the above anon said! pretty much everyone is willing to tag everyone, so medium isn't a issue. however, you really need to be proactive and reach out at first, especially if you're from a somewhat obscure canon. pop into a lot of threads in the intro log and make sure you like to backtag! this is a very backtag-heavy game, and most of that is in the logs comm as well.

Don't let it get you down. A lot of people are busy with in game stuff and might not be free enough to tag the meme. It doesn't mean they won't like you once you're in. Try tagging out, it might help.

Honestly, test drive memes aren't that big in EV. People will sometimes tag their prospective castmates, but even then, it's not a sure thing.

Some people like tumblr. The website is to better organize stuff that needs to be redone as it is getting out of date.

As I understand one of them is going to school for this kind of thing so building a website might be just another way for them to stretch their creative juices.

I don't mind at all. Sometimes games die because mods stop caring. The effort shows these ones care a lot. Their excitement makes me wanna stay involved. It doesn't matter how they show it.

The tumblr was actually my idea to help bring in new blood from there, not really for our existing players!

Yeah, yeah, I know, tumblr RP, but there's starting to be some interest in DWRP going around on that site, so I thought getting a tumblr for the game would be a good way to advertise. Once I really get to work on it, I'll be linking the comms on here as well as resources that have been going around to help them understand the way RP here works and some other things like the website, all on a big sticky post (as soon as I understand how to do that, haha tumblr, how does it work). Once all that is set up, it'll be used mostly to announce reserve and app schedules, fourth wall when we have one (oh ho ho), and probably reblog any fanart from the game that people post up. I think jao also has some art and stuff she's made that didn't really make it into our game setup that will probably go on there, as well.

That said, both the website and tumblr are totally optional for players. All information, announcements, and actual gameplay will be on Dreamwidth as usual, that won't be changing. If you're feeling overwhelmed, you can completely ignore the existence of those things and still enjoy the game to its fullest!

And of course the actual upkeep and running of the game will come before any extraneous stuff. Though if you ever feel like we're slipping, feel free to shoot us a concern!

As someone still contemplating trying to convert potential castmates from Tumblr to DW, can I just thank you guys for doing this? Our reasons seem to coincide and this'll just make things easier. So, yes~ Thank you!
