I'm really happy that this fandom is so open to ocs and crossovers.

I love crossovers. I haven't had the chance to play with any OCs, but I've had quite a few crossover threads that have been a lot of fun.

why do people seem to think "pack meetings" would ever be a thing? and why do people seem to think that stiles and/or scott would tag along to them?

People have seen too many shows that have 'family meetings'?

Why are you confusing fanfiction with the show?

Most of the time the 'pack meetings' trope comes up because of Sterek. By that logic, Stiles would be there because of Derek and Scott would be there because of Stiles.

Seriously. If you're not into pairings, don't worry about it.

ymmv but it's common sense to think the pack would gather together on some sort of regular basis just to regroup and get updated on whatever's going on. in the show i think this is more about derek training the new betas, in rp i'd say it had more to do with getting everyone in the same page with regards to plots.

Only after re-watching season 2 have I started to question something.

Why does Stiles apparently know so much about drowning? To the point where it actually sounds half-personal.

the same way stiles knows about the history of circumcision

but no seriously, i think it's just meant to be his coping method. like he just went home after that shit happened and researched the fuck out of drowning rather than think anout what was actually going on.

Which makes sense for the technical details. At the end of that sort of speech though he talks about it on an emotional level though.

like the anon above me said, stiles could quite possibly cope by researching the fuck outta stuff so he's knowledgeable on the subjects and can sound more in control than he is.

also, like the aforementioned history of circumcision, in-show research montages, and given how quickly he found all that stuff about werewolves, it's kinda safe to say that stiles is the king of wikipedia and does that sort of random search and memorize info things a lot.

as for the personal aspect, stiles is cited as having panic attacks which can feel like the equivalent of an asthma attack/asphyxiation/drowning, however you wanna put it. so knowing someone died feeling the same things he felt on multiple occasions after his mom died probably made it very personal.

they should just accept that it isn't happening in canon. hell, not that long ago there was an article with dylan saying that stiles and derek hadn't even had any scenes together yet.

Can't really blame them for not letting it die when they seem to bait those fans back in.

They said there was no interaction in the first half, then Dylan commented on throwing in a 'missed you' line.
And now there's Jeff today saying they'll have scenes together and be allies.

Not to mention 'improving' the odds by apparently having no knowledge of Derek getting a love interest from the last FAQ.

I don't understand why they can't just say 'no' and leave it as that. Yes those fans will get pissy but they're going to do that either way if it's never going to happen.
