It's a comm-based slow-to-medium paced slice-of-life-ish game high on the silly meter and low on the drama. I PROMISE WE'RE NOT NORMALLY THIS CAGEY but the core of our game doesn't like to make big waves on the anon comms and I just thought we should respect that.

What kind of environment would you be interested in? If an easy-going, sometimes crazy (we've got a fairly huge Homestuck cast) but ultimately light-hearted game appeals to you, just say the word and I or maybe one of the others really really psyched for a Terezi will introduce ourselves and tell you more.

serkets @TF has her voice down perfectly. I feel like a lot of Vriska players woobify her or soften her up until she's 8ooooooooring but she's managed to keep her edge.

i've always enjoyed what i've seen of meanerpeixes, although i'm not sure if she's playing anywhere anymore. she has that nice balance of violent punk and secretly caring leader that a lot of meenahs miss.

i really loved greenshift when they were around. i've never been much of a jade fan because i found her to be a bit boring in canon, but threading off of them and reading their interactions with others really made me consider going back and appreciating jade a bit more.

From my experiences with you in another game, I felt you had a very solid handle on the voice and did not oversimplify a complicated character at all. Generally was a lot of fun playing off of you.

To date, I have observed a lot of Eridans in a few different games that have had multiples at different times and the same. I'm personally not easy to please with the character, as too many try to clean him up a lot, make him passable or remove large parts of his personality (his occasional childishness, his possessiveness, his arrogance, his psychotic leanings, obsessions with magic, self-loathing, etc...). I'm more forgiving than some about 'why' they do it. It's hard to make the character viable, so people tend to cut corners.

I really feel fishdouche over at Asgard doesn't cut many corners, if at all. They don't make it easy to interact with him, but they don't make it impossible, and they manage to keep him fresh and available, while at the same time not hamming him up too much or trying to pretend he's really all a good person inside.

Honestly, been very pleased with their take on the character.

Homestuck anons that rp, what do you do when you find it really hard to rp from the fandom because of how everyone outside of it paints you, no matter how you act?

I've been in a game for a year now, and today it's become obvious that the other people in this game just expect me to be some kind of asshole, despite never giving them a reason to, *just* because i'm from homestuck...

I kind of want to drop right now. I really hate feeling like this. :(

I think I know which comment you mean, then, and honestly I think that player isn't a good representation of the feelings of the game at large.

Keep on RPing, anon! Don't let a bump in the road really deter you from enjoying RP and having fun.

Don't really take that to heart. There's a lot of people who don't like Homestuck for one reason or another. There's a lot of generalized assumptions and preconditioned reactions to us that aren't necessarily always positive. But that doesn't mean everyone thinks that way.

You can prove them wrong by not being an asshole, which I'm sure you're not! Just be a good person and mun and keep RPing. If they expect those kind of things from you or you're treated negatively just because you're into this fandom; they're not worth your time. I'm sure you have friends who appreciate you and who you play. I'm sure there's enough people who do like you around to make up for whatever negativity brought by other people.

Step back for a little and let things settle and get back into it. Don't let this discourage you!

dw rp is full of the side of fandom who judge people based on groups they're in and throw tantrums when someone tells them not to be a judgmental asshat.

Unfortunately, and yeah i knew that just...i don't know. I've been as active ooc'ly as possible and i had thought that by now they'd realize that we're not all assholes? But these people are still completely willing to consider us that way because all of homestuck is and 'can you blame us for assuming???'

It just really kind of hurts. :/

Hey, don't let it get you down, ok? I know it really put a hit in my motivation and confidence because of the things you listed. But, I think the important part about rping is to have fun and enjoy yourself.

So this person feels this way, there's a lot more that won't.

It's been said before that a lot of people don't like Homestuck for one reason or another. We really can't help that. The people that paint you with one brush because of what you like, really aren't worth the time. I bet you're a pretty reasonable and down to earth person. Just keep on rocking and know those of us where you are, are behind you 100%.
