Are BW2 worth buying?

I don't know what it is but I had real trouble actually getting into the first ones. Compared to previous games which i've had no trouble playing and re-playing without it feeling kind of boring.

while i liked bw i liked bw2 even more and thought it was an improvement in pretty much every way

it also starts off really strong as far as pokemon choice goes, and that's been a problem i've had with both gen iv and v

so yeah i'd suggest giving it a go. i definitely had a lot of fun with it.

I liked the original games more and since the 6th gen games are coming out soon this year it might be worth it just to stick it out until October. It's always better to have the latest version of the main games.

There's a lot of good Pokemon available at the beginning, and they tweaked a few gameplay elements that were lacking in the first BW. The story's a little weak, if you care about that.

But what I like most about BW2 is the sheer amount of stuff to do in the postgame. With the movies (a minigame that I thought was actually fun, since I don't normally like the contest things), the PWT, a bunch of sidequests that are only available in the postgame, getting all the medals, and then the usual Pokemon postgame stuff, you probably won't get bored.

You can get Mareep and Riolu before the first gym along with old reliable Lillipup

and you can get Magnemite before the second gym

The postgame content is crazy, and if you happen to have the challenge mode key (either from a friend for white 2 or you unlock it in black 2) then there are moments where it seriously tests your skills as a trainer.

It's really worth it, I think. As other anons above me have mentioned, the pokemon choice is great, and there are a bunch of fun things to do. Also, even if you're one of my more nostalgic types, there's the PWT, where you can battle all the gym leaders from every single region, in addition to all the Champions.
