rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. He's intelligent. He may be behind the times on technology but he picks up on things fast. There were several times in his movie and in the final battle in Avengers that it was brought up that he strategizes, he thinks up a plan or makes one up on the spot but he doesn't just bull through. He knows his team's weakness and strengths and he utilizes them. If he's a boy scout, he's one that lives by the 'be prepared' motto and knows how to get things done in a way that's best for the group as a whole. And coming back to tech for that matter, he's aware he's behind the times but he deals with it with humor and isn't afraid to admit it. If he needs help with something, he'll ask and more to the point he'll know who to ask that's going to help him the most comfortably. He's got lines in the sand he draws but those seem to be very much for him personally. He's pretty accepting of other's differences if you look at his crew in his movie and of past mistakes from the way he takes Hawkeye in after the brainwashing without a blink once Nat gives the nod (not that it was Hawkeye's mistake but you get the idea). He's a captain (he earned that rank) and he's a leader and he does both automatically. Which isn't to say he doesn't have his stubborn or too stiff backed side. He's got an idea of how things should be done and when that's bucked he doesn't always respond, especially not at first, by backing down. He will reevaluate though. There's a lack of ego there that lets him but he will tend to go by the rules at least at first and a lot of that shows up in his butting heads with Tony.

He's also got a mess of emotional problems and messes inside him and he may end to keep to himself and long for 'simpler' times. He's got a ton of issues that you can play with but he's not going to be outward about them. It's going to be internal. Keep it subtle but don't be afraid of it leaking out in his thoughts or private time or what have you from time to time. The trick is not to overdo it. If done right, it can really add a lot of depth to him but if done wrong it can totally sink his characterization.
