Why the fuck didn't we have a thread before now?

Any thoughts on the mod post? wg hasn't found anything to complain about yet.

It's great that they're waiting until the apps are finished before they start with the actual event, even if it does get delayed by a couple of days.

Otherwise...idk. It was a pretty generic mod post. Not sure what else to say about it.

It seems reasonable enough to me. Also loving this app round, lots of characters I am excited to see in game.

Someone suggested I should app here, so I was wondering if you guys could tell me a bit more about the game? I've been skimming info and such so I know it has the sex-as-ac requirement which I like and the idea of the sex being supposedly kinky is appealing (though I probably don't qualify with most of my tastes).

But I'm not really clear on the actual motivation to have sex. I've read about characters rushing off to have sex the first day they're there! Which, again, fine, I'm just wondering what the mechanic is? Especially if I play a character who isn't usually that interested, not without some motivation anyway.

basically new citizens are given a chip in their head that releases low-grade subliminal messages hinting them towards those kinds of desires. of course, how much they actually affect you is up to you.

also, there is a "re-education" system, where characters strong-willed/undesiring enough to resist, or who get into other kinds of trouble, are basically clockwork orange'd into horniness. which doesn't necessarily have to last, but it will at least break the walls down enough for a log or two in the short term.

also, it's a really great game with really great people. the playerbase is really inviting and friendly, for the most part, and most people seem to really pay attention to boundaries and what you actually want to play, in my experience.

Okay, so it's not a huge adjustment to think someone could get 'into' it without too much work, basically, even if they aren't that familiar with sex. Hmm.

Okay and how are logs? Do they get finished, is there a lot of dropped logs? I've played in other sex games and the logs seem to almost universally get dropped all the time...

there is an incentive to finish logs so you can level your character up and get their powers back. There's also quite a few people who backtag as long as the other person is willing. I have a smut log from november i'm still working on with someone. It can't be used for this month's AC but on top of it being fucking hot when it's finished it can be used toward the status ac thing.

that said, logs still get dropped but there's enough people in the game you can usually find someone else who won't drop it. dec saw a lot of dropped threads but every other person was on a hiatus of some sort.

There are a lot of rpers who are slow but very dedicated to backtagging (I'm one of them). This game is one where logs are definitely emphasized over network posts, which I personally love. And it makes sense since face to face interaction is required for smutting, unless you're doing something voyeuristic, which I believe could also count towards AC. But there's definitely a lot of physical interaction and I personally haven't had a single thread dropped except where the other player and I agreed on it.

Seconding the part about backtagging and a lot of people being open, though I will say that I have personally dropped tags for various reasons and that it's still entirely possible that some logs might not get finished.

A lot of times it could depend on load (just like in memes and TLH, if someone has a really great post but gets tagged by 6+ people, it's going to be harder and harder for that person to finish threads), quality (like it or not, there is a measurable difference between the quality of some players compared to others, which will be true of any game), and just straight-up "this is not as fun as I thought it would be/this is not at all what I thought it would be, period" (since no one should be forced or obligated to finish threads, especially if they become uncomfortable).

Generally, the logs that I see as the most successful are those that are planned out between the two or more parties and closed, so that the participants can focus on that scene with an idea of where they're going and what they want.
