Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Temporary Change: To reduce the strain on Dreamwidth's servers new entries will go up when a post reaches 3,000. It doesn't look like DW can handle 5,000 comment entries at the moment so please refrain from spamming so we can stretch these entries for a little longer. We don't need several threads soliciting photo evidence of body parts, and we already know that we only care about yaoi. Failure to comply will only result in deletions and butthurt. "People may notice site slowdown/cache error pages. We're working on fixing. You can help: finish posts at 3k comments, not 5k or more." - Dreamwidth@Twitter

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.

I don't think it COULD be achieved with amnesia/au. Maybe some people would play it that way, but a lot of people would oocly make their character interact more with or gravitate to their own castmates, either just because they love/know more about the canon or because they want to experiment with the way the relationship or opinions of each other could be different with such a different 'first' meeting.

In a lone canon warrior game, every popular or obscure canon would be on even footing from the start, without more obscure characters having to work twice as hard for half as much results.

Because no one would gravitate towards the lone canon warrior representation of popular canons they like.

No shit, but it would still be a more even footing. People wouldn't be able to hang out entirely by canon; characters that would ICly only involve themselves with canonmates would HAVE to tag others or just stay completely by themselves; because it would be a lone canon warrior game, people would be more likely to app obscure canons and would thus be more likely to tag OTHER obscure canons.

You're right, and I've got another idea. No one is allowed to tag anyone they know OOCly.

That way, people wouldn't hang out just based upon OOC social groups, players who don't know anyone OOCly would have a better chance of gaining valuable CR with people who might otherwise stay together, and it would encourage people to branch out with new and exotic characters they might otherwise wouldn't try.

Oh! Here's another one. Require people to tag a certain amount of new people in order to pass AC. If they tag the same five people, they get warned, and if they don't meet a certain number of new people they get dropped.

I've got another idea! Also, we should require people to app from an obscure canon. Have it so that they're allowed one semi-popular canon but have to balance that with, say, 3-4 different characters from obscure canons.
