Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Temporary Change: To reduce the strain on Dreamwidth's servers new entries will go up when a post reaches 3,000. It doesn't look like DW can handle 5,000 comment entries at the moment so please refrain from spamming so we can stretch these entries for a little longer. We don't need several threads soliciting photo evidence of body parts, and we already know that we only care about yaoi. Failure to comply will only result in deletions and butthurt. "People may notice site slowdown/cache error pages. We're working on fixing. You can help: finish posts at 3k comments, not 5k or more." - Dreamwidth@Twitter

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.

How about something vaguely inspired by the first Grandia or Fable? The Adventurer's Society has called all you brave knights, mages and general heroes (plus a few villains that managed to creep in) to this shiny fantasy world and wants you to go explore it, reporting back on everything they find or fight. Characters turn up at the society where they're briefed on the world and introduced to their new/ altered powers and roles before being turned loose on the world. Events could be things like dragon attacks, demonic armies, tournaments, the works. Non-combat-oriented characters could take healing, tactical or information gathering roles- becoming an emissary or translator for hidden villages, for example, or documenting the flora and fauna of the world.

I would be SO over a Grandia-inspired game, it's not even funny. Especially if there's a kind of discovery theme to it (probably going a bit into Etrian Odyssey III direction, but hey)

As long as non-combat characters have stuff to do, it should work really well.

Yes! There would definitely be a major focus on exploration and discovery- one of the things I really loved about Grandia was the excitement over exploring a brand new world and re-discovering ancient civilisations, and I think that would work really well in a game.

the excitement over exploring a brand new world and re-discovering ancient civilisations,

This is basically my "fetish" for games and I am still sad barely any game does this.

I'd be so apping into something like this.

I don't know Grandia or Fable, but if it involves knights and heroes and all that stuff, then why not. Sounds like it could be fun!
