rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. Hi! I actually was wondering a little about the setting itself. I love a lot about the way things are set up, but I'm a little concerned about the entire cast of the game being stuck in such an enclosed space. A train's very limiting, and I feel like I'd run out of things to do sooner rather than later. Will there ever be stops/is the game world expected to open up at all as time progresses?

You caught me RIGHT as I was leaving, so I'll answer this as best I can before I head off.

This is one of those things where I would Spoil Everything if I went into too much detail, but suffice to say that:

a) the cars listed on the cars page are NOT the only ones available, and more will be becoming accessible, including various activities for characters,

b) I won't say at which point (it depends on character actions and whether people choose to opt in or not), but it IS possible for characters to leave the train at certain times for plot-related reasons or by 'accident'. They will mostly be on the train, can OOCly opt to remain on the train ALL the time, and do have to return to the train at some point though, and

c) at a further point (again depending on character actions) remaining on the train will be entirely optional. A large part of the end of the first arc is almost entirely off-train, and the second arc may be played entirely or partly-off-train depending on character actions in the first arc. For a start, that depends on whether there IS a functional train left when the first arc ends!

While characters can't ICly decide to leave the train, there will be OOC events/posts every now and then in which they can leave for a time. During the 'entirely-train-based' parts however, especially the beginning, we'd like the enclosed setting of the train to help foster CR for minor and original characters, AUs, lone canon warriors and so forth.
