i think it's the connections to other characters from the same book/movie/etc that's giving me trouble. on the one hand it's like my character stands alone in an alternate universe, but then again there's still people looking for castmates and those sort of connections. how is that being handled usually?
let's take the example of, idk, harry potter. i have a harry and join a game. does he automatically know the hermione there or is that just something players like to plot together for familiarity reasons? bc at the same time it's possible that younger versions of his parents or something can drop in. what then?
