Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

This probably sounds really stupid, but all of my friends keep asking me to get a tumblr but I don't understand what the point would be. I don't make art or graphics or write enough to justify posting my own things there, and I'm in touch with my friends on other sites and see all the stuff they produce outside of tumblr. I don't get what the point of reblogging stuff is. Am I missing something huge here?

i just don't really get tumblr's interface. idk. it's not linear enough for me.

It's designed to spread things virally, and not much else. The impracticality of the system becomes very obvious when you try any other function such as, say, making a rebuttal to a stupid essay that's been circulating around with thousands of likes, or searching for a specific picture.

They want you to look at their stuff. So that you can coo over gifs or whatever and give them more likes and reblogs because they need the attention.

I like it and mostly (always) reblog, but I mostly use it like people use pinterest/weheartit - somewhere I can amass pictures/posts of things I want to keep on hand.

It depends if you really want something like that.
