rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

What are your favorite words and phrases from languages that aren't your native tongue?

susurrar - spanish for whispering

l'appel du vide - the french phrase referring to the urge to jump off of high places

l'esprit d'escaliers - also french, the feeling of walking away from a conversation and thinking of all the things you should have said

jamais vu - when something seems familiar, but at the same time, isn't

presque vu - when something's on the tip of your tongue

reja vu - the feeling that something will happen again

there's another one that means feeling like you've never been somewhere o done something before even though it should be familiar but I can't remember it right now

I dunno if you know but English has "susurrus", which is a noun meaning "a soft murmuring or rustling sound; whisper". "Susurrate" is to make that sound!
