Nope, still mad about this, not actually believing it's a sequel until they actually announce it. That could be a teaser for ANYTHING.

Oh, so am I. Even if it's not a sequel I hope it's SOMETHING cool, like a spin-off anime or something.

considering what she's holding, maybe it's shiki? she could have grown her hair out or something... then again i barely remember what her real body looks like so.

Shiki's got short, dark black hair, I think, and she wears glasses, so I doubt it's her. It's possible that she started to make and sell her plushies, though, and this girl might be a fan?

...Actually, that would be an interesting connection to the first game.

i really, really like this idea.

Take a look--she's wearing headphones, which were heavy in symbolism for Neku and represented his shutting out the world.

This anon is betting Neku/Shiki daughter.

Not really, given how important they were and symbolic to Neku's character. There's a reason that things ended on a shot of Neku's headphones on the ground.

Undervaluing the contributions of others was Kitaniji's character-defining flaw - the way he homogenized every mind in Shibuya via the Red Pins reflects an innate misunderstanding of the creative possibilities of conflict between multiple points of view.

Check out the flavor text on his pin -- Kitaniji and his headphones are in some ways the final evolution of the "I don't need anyone else, they just mess things up. I'm all I need" view that Neku initially subscribes to and finally, symbolically discards as part of his growth via the Game.

Not to diss Megs' phones or anything, because they give you some great stat boosts.

One of the points of TWEWY was that it was a game set in the present. If she were their daughter, Squeenix would need to do away with that and set the game in the future. Not saying it's not happening, I personally would be okay with it, but it's not likely.

The headphones also symbolized Neku's growth, so they could just be a flag for the main character (Digimon, anyone?) who grows over the course of the game.
