...Though even there the most popular characters are the ridiculously young versions from Reboot. We're a shallow society, dammit. I want Ambassador Spock from Next Gen. Or McCoy and Spock and Kirk from ToS. Bashir. Ryker. Janeway. Chakotay. I don't care, darn it. I want more Trek.

Okay, I'm going to give up typing in lowercase because it's a hassle. I don't like Reboot because to me it's a total break from everything I loved about Next Gen, DS9, and even Voyager and I didn't think the world needed yet another high-gloss airbrushed show about sexy sci-fi twentysomethings doing sexy things.

I just want my cool shows about space politics and the Borg and shield harmonics and Reginald Barclay, ascended extra who eventually learned he didn't have to rely on imaginary Holodeck friends when he had people who cared about him in real life all along.

But I have no idea where I could play any of the characters I love because I'm picky about games and don't care about Supernatural.

This, this, a billion times this. I have the added problem with Reboot that I know ToS, and while I understand it was an AU, they changed too much. AU I like - but for me that means you change one major thing, not one major thing and a thousand little ones. Mostly, though, it was too much pretty people being sexy and not enough, you know, STAR TREK for me. I know why it appealed to the masses, but god dammit, I want crack science and aliens and transporter malfunctions and slingshotting around the sun and Borg and - Maybe some military type stuff.

Just. Star Trek to be... Star Trek.

Yep. I was hoping for Star Trek and instead got to watch Beefy McEyebrows total mommy's car and wear this dumb, shit-eating grin for two hours. So I guess now I know how Star Wars fans felt when Phantom Menace came out.

Anyway, I guess the point is I'd like a break from the teen drama and SuperWhoLock once in a while.
