Someone on my plurk list just plurked about finally being down to only 30 tags in her inbox. It got me wondering how many tags people generally have to reply to at one time. I can't even imagine devoting that much time and energy to RP. Not bashing anyone for it, it's just completely outside of my personal experience.

How many threads do you usually have going on at once, on average?

Started keeping a record of all my threads. According to my spreadsheet, it's usually about 25-30. I usually don't owe all those at the same time, though; some of my partners are on the slower side with me. I start feeling dizzy and "how do" if my inbox gets over 20.

I see people plurk about getting to a number like 60 to nirvana in 90 minutes, though. A high number doesn't necessarily mean they're sinking their whole day into it if the characters/game meshes well for them.

60 tags in 90 minutes good fucking lord if I could do that in a WEEK I'd be ecstatic.

...what does that do to quality tho?

It's commentspam (though that was probably obvious) and I've known some commentspammers to be good enough that they really can snap off answers that quickly without it being a loss in quality. I'm sure they don't do that all the time (there's of course the times when you have to stop and ask the other person "hey, what do you want to do with this thread?"), but sometimes you just get the notif and immediately know what your character would say.

This. I've been playing my character long enough that I can look at a tag and come up with a reply in less than 30 seconds because I'm just comfortable with his voice.

Anywhere from 30-60, sometimes more, sometimes less depending on what's going on in the game.

The tags build up, but I rarely have more than uh, 6-8 threads going at the same time. More than 4 tags in my inbox and I freak out a little, esp since I'm a very slow tagger.

man. I play in one of the games people usually say they'll never join because "it's way too huge and too fast!" and the thought of having more than 3 threads going on is crazy to me.

I'm the same. In one of those massive games and I usually have about 3-4 threads tops going on at a time per character.

Right now I have 53 tags in my inbox staring at me, but this is definitely not normal.

Normally ranges from... 18-25? Then I'll reply to everything in one fell swoop, tag back and forth for a while, get distracted and go do something else, then watch it slowly build up again until it's back in the 20's ;;

mmmm 10 or 11 but it isn't fast tagging - two are logs, one that's been going on since the end of november and the other's from mid-january - and generally things are pretty relaxed as long as i don't let them accumulate too much. everyone's a pretty slow tagger too so even if i tag new people it isn't like i'm gonna get swamped.

that's only for one character though. my other one has maybe two or three going on.

I think it depends how many games a person is in. I'm in 3 games, one character at each, and I usually have about 15-20 threads going at once all together. I'm actually a pretty slow tagger though - I usually only tag reply back to each thread once or twice a day, sometimes not even that. High tag count =/= you spend all your time tagging.

I have two characters in one game right now and I don't usually have more than 10 threads going on at once?

I'm still getting used to having two characters at once!!! so I'm trying not to go overboard with tags.

At most 25~30? Right now I have only 4 in my inbox but I haven't replied to a log yet so I guess 5. I only have 2 characters anyway.

I have about 25 tags waiting for me and fiveish threads where it's the other person's turn, but that's high for me (probably because I meme'd a lot before my game moved and now it's moved so it's active again).

Even at my heaviest load of characters, which was 12 spread across 3 games, my backtag folder was never more than 20. If I start getting more than that, I feel overwhelmed and will probably drop some threads to get it back down to what I prefer.

I can't say how many would come into my inbox, because I'll just answer them and not count, but the 20 is what will accrue overnight or while I'm in class.

so maybe divide that between 5 - 8 characters I'm replying to, not counting the threads elsewhere from commenting around.

I go through binge runs basically; usually after I've finished all of my HW and whatnot.

though right now I only have 15 waiting to be backtagged, one PSL and one meme.

i have about 9 characters spread out across 5 games now, my inbox is usually 70 a day, and if i'm gone for a few days it CAN get up to 100. half of it is just normal comment spam, the other half requires more thought. what i do is spend about 3-4 hours a day just tagging while i talk to friends and listen to music/watch tv and suddenly my inbox is empty. some days i lag a bit but it's normally alright.
