The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Temporary Change
: To reduce the strain on Dreamwidth's servers new entries will go up when a post reaches 2,000 - 2,500 comments. "One of our biggest load problems is entries that have a high number of comments -- loading those entries causes a big hit -- and we've been seeing an increase in the number of entries with lots of comments lately. If even a few high-traffic journals or communities started opening new posts when comments reached 2000 or 2500 instead of letting the post run until it hit the maximum number of comments, it would definitely help." - DW_News

An Unwind Game?

For those who don't know, Unwind is a book based in the future when, instead of abortions, parents are allowed to 'abort retroactively' when their child's between the ages of thirteen and eighteen. This retroactive abortion means that they sign a few government forms and then their child gets carted off to be unwound, meaning they would be taken apart piece by piece and every part (sans useless stuff like your appendix) would be taken by a different person wanting that part, so the child's 'soul can be spread across many people'. Someone can be unwound for any reason--they're sick and too expensive to keep, they're in the adoption system and the overworked place cuts them from it, they're huge troublemakers and their parents have had enough, etc. etc. etc.

Obviously, kids who find out they're due for unwinding usually book it, and the ones who aren't immediately caught sometimes find little pocket communities on the outskirts of civilization, usually run by one or two adults, and they live there until they're eighteen and the unwind notice expires. I'm thinking we could have an AU game based in one of those communities.

Well, at least that. It's a good read, anon, but it gets pretty intense. I think you'll enjoy it.
