Temporary Change
: To reduce the strain on Dreamwidth's servers new entries will go up when a post reaches 2,000 - 2,500 comments. "One of our biggest load problems is entries that have a high number of comments -- loading those entries causes a big hit -- and we've been seeing an increase in the number of entries with lots of comments lately. If even a few high-traffic journals or communities started opening new posts when comments reached 2000 or 2500 instead of letting the post run until it hit the maximum number of comments, it would definitely help." - DW_News

While this VDay stuff is fun and all--it's so damn cracky. The serious plots are all pretty much involving the mods and their buddies. It's really disheartening and I kinda just want to drop. I don't feel like anyone communicates and I'm just fucking frustrated.

Anon, if you're not happy, then go. In the end, it's the mods who make the game and it's the players who choose the game. And it's just not worth it if it's stressing you out so badly. An atmosphere of stress and anger can make even the people who are having fun start to sour a little.

I guess what I'm saying is -- you can't force people to change. The mods have to want to be different, and if they don't, then waiting around is only going to make you disappointed.

eta: Ah, balls. Anon fail. Oh well -- sorry, guys.

I'm kinda burned out on crack too, anon. Hopefully the evil twin plot will fix that!

+1

If it ever makes it out of the plot suggestions post...

I'm kind of more enthralled with the idea of the Jekyll/Hyde plot the mods suggested, but I'd like the evil twin plot too.

Or the Dark Samus plot. Really just want one of those to get rolling already.

i feel the same way. i actually feel too awkward to do the vday stuff because at this point i've been so out of touch that i feel like i'm a stranger in the game.

I don't know about you, but even if I wasn't involved in game plots, most of what my characters have been involved in has be heavy stuff lately. Even when I've tried to do happier stuff it all ends up dramatic and angst-ridden.

I'm honestly really happy to have a chance at doing some honest in-game crack.

But what I'm really trying to say here is that you don't need big plots to get serious with your characters. You just have to ask around - or heck, even have your character start a serious discussion on the network or with their friends/castmates/whatever.
