Temporary Change
: To reduce the strain on Dreamwidth's servers new entries will go up when a post reaches 2,000 - 2,500 comments. "One of our biggest load problems is entries that have a high number of comments -- loading those entries causes a big hit -- and we've been seeing an increase in the number of entries with lots of comments lately. If even a few high-traffic journals or communities started opening new posts when comments reached 2000 or 2500 instead of letting the post run until it hit the maximum number of comments, it would definitely help." - DW_News

that anonfail.......

i might as well add since i anonfailed and all- if you have any questions about apping an OC to the game, just PM the mod account. or ask me right here!

i wouldn't say we judge OCs any harder than we do normal apps. what we look for are clearly defined world/history and personality sections. establish everything you can about your OC as clearly as you can- that's basically all we want!

holy shit someone replied 0u0

and thank you for the information! i was just kind of nervous because it seems everywhere is all "OC'S ARE BAD, CANON ALL DAY E'ERY DAY" but mayfield hadn't specified, and i've been lurking for a bit, so i figured it was worth the question

its a character i've been fleshing out for a while, tbh, so worldbuilding should be ok?? but its a random superheroesq character (villain, actually, but same diff) if that causes problems?

op again

questions are fine!!! my timezone lets me be around to answer them at absurd times. also yes... we have a lot of homestuck here haha.......

anyway! i definitely don't think mayfield is one of those 'NO OCS EVER' kind of games. we've always had them around and we love the hell out of them. i don't see any problems whatsoever with a superhero-type OC and i would actually loooove to see one in the game.

i only recently got into homestuck (just before all the doc scratch narrated stuff, haha) because my friend's pestering finally got through. haven't regretted it since!

rambling question!anon is rambling, so i'll try not to elaborate too much. the character's world was initially just my attempt at a what-if-superheroes-were-a-Real-Thing story without some of the gloss of superhero comics and it... snowballed from there. its not a super-realistic oc, but that was where it started.

aaaand i'm rambling. TL;DR thank you for the answers so quickly! i'm super excited and now i just have to work up the nerve to app.
