Temporary Change: To reduce the strain on Dreamwidth's servers new entries will go up when a post reaches 2,000 - 2,500 comments. "One of our biggest load problems is entries that have a high number of comments -- loading those entries causes a big hit -- and we've been seeing an increase in the number of entries with lots of comments lately. If even a few high-traffic journals or communities started opening new posts when comments reached 2000 or 2500 instead of letting the post run until it hit the maximum number of comments, it would definitely help." - DW_News

Tidus | Final Fantasy X

(Anonymous) 2012-02-04 02:02 am (UTC)(link)Anyway. Really, can you see early game Tidus going along with the discovery that to save all of Spira he essentially has to die? I can't. I don't think he'd be stoked about having to screw over Spira for his continued survival, but I can't see him gracefully accepting it the way he did canonically.
So I guess it would depend on what you want to play out, because both sides have their pros and cons. Do you want an abrasive fish out of water who'll get better? Do you want someone who thought he'd be dead and isn't and is a bit surprised by it? Or I guess FFX-2 would count here, but really he doesn't do much of anything interesting there. (Honestly, if I were you I'd split the difference and go with a mid-canon Tidus if you can find an interesting point in which he got sucked up by Sin but ended up somewhere else and is going, "...did I get Sin toxined? Dammit."
