Can anyone explain the HP rift that seems to be in the game? Do the players not get along or what?

As far as I can tell they're friendly enough.

Yes, they're friendly, but I've noticed that sometimes, interaction between castmates seems a little one sided.

How do you mean? I know one person from the HP cast barely tagged anyone back, castmate or no, but she dropped a while back.

Since when was it IC for a Weasley to ignore a sibling of theirs?

Whoa, are they ignoring one another? I know the Ginny player is in a radically different time zone from the Ron player (and most of the rest of the cast), so maybe they keep missing one another? I think one or both also recently came off hiatus, so they might be slow in getting back into the swing of things.

Not defending one or the other of them since I rarely talk to either. I just..... haven't noticed that.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I will here.

Honestly, Ron wouldn't respond to every little thing Ginny posted! He keeps an eye on her, but he's always treated her more of a nuisance half the time. They've had threads but, admittedly, more recently I've been tagging very few people because of some stress/suddenly in real life business.

As for other characters, Sirius he fears talking to since he's DEAD. Ron hates talking to dead people that he knows, it's just weird. He's not tactful enough not to go, "well, fuck, you're dead where I'm from". With Snape, Wintaer and I have tried putting them together but overall it doesn't work for us.

But, again, as for Ginny... Canonically the Weasleys are close but they don't do everything together. Ron actually brushes Ginny off several times in canon and tells her to go away. That is't to say he shouldn't more, but again I haven't been really tagging out much/even tagging a lot at all lately and I hate myself for it half the time, but things on that front will hopefully get better after the next week.

Furthermore, Ron wouldn't *want* to check the PCD all the time, so he only scans. He can see Ginny anytime she wants... and a lot of her posts are just staring out a window, etc, he's going to bypass that before getting further in. On a personal note, if this is about the newest post by Ginny and Ed... Well, I try and stay away from that unless they *want* me because otherwise Ron would become upset and/or try and lock Ginny away. This is the kid that flushed and sputtered about with the idea of her kissing.

Timezones, yeah, lately I haven't been around, but everyone has vastly different schedules, etc. That could be it on a lot of fronts.

Check the activity of the HP cast. They never post, and they take multiple days for one tag (except for Ginny, or unless Ron and Hermione are threading with each other). They don't talk to one another much because any decently long thread would take months at their rate.

Hi anon. I can't speak for the rest of the cast, but I can honestly say that I've never taken multiple days for one tag, unless I'm on hiatus. I try to get to all my tags at least once a day, and more often than not, I do much more than that. I don't boomerang tag too often, though. And yeah, Ron and Hermione have a lot of threads together, but I don't get to those any more quickly than I do the rest of my tags. I go according to what's in my inbox.

Also, my last few Hermione posts have had at least one castmate other than Ron tag in, all of which were replied to. And I usually try to jump in on anything my castmates post.

Again, not speaking for everyone, since I know our cast does have a few slower taggers. But if it's enough of an issue that it's making people leery, perhaps you can bring it up to the players' respective HMDs or even to the mods, considering that one of the mods is in the cast as well, and I'm sure Wintaer would want to know if people have concerns.

I'm sorry that this is thought to be an issue, and if there are any trouble spots with Hermione in particular, feel free to bring them up to me here or in my HMD.

I'll be frank and say, I'm not sure what you mean, Anon. We do have slow taggers. Zekoi and Wintaer seem really busy, for example. As has Mary. And while I don't speak to Charly, since I've known her he can be a slower tagger... And I'll admit, I tag Janet frequently--especially recently when I've only done a few lighter threads here and there.

Tagging faster and out more has been something I've been concentrating on for months, because I know it's a problem of mine. However, as aforementioned, my last few weeks have been hectic to the point when I get in a place where I can tag I've been moving furniture or out all day, etc. I haven't had time on top of stress.

But until recently, I know how I tagged. I had three characters for a while and once every week, sometimes even two, I'd sit down on Friday night and tag everyone within the last two pages(you can check), but unfortunately Ron isn't the one most likely to approach strangers at the time! Creating a someodd of 40~ new threads plus the ones from before. So I tagged out constantly and tagged be nearly always as the tag came in/in the morning/etc. People could get 10-20 tags a day from me, even if the number has in the last month and a half or so depleted (going back to April, at latest, I figure).

Even in posts until recently I tended to cry and keep them going forever? I'll be the first to admit, I'm not the best roleplayer. I know my faults lie in tagging, etc, but I've worked hard to bring that up. And before everything went down for me I was told by several people in game I didn't need to worry if I had to take a break because I was crazy active and tried to be ontop of things. Described as a "fast tagger", even if I've never felt that way.

My point is, until recently, I'm trying really hard to see where you're coming from. Like Janet, I can't speak for anyone else, but I do know that before I had to take hiatuses that I was constantly trying to be everywhere, plot with everyone, and tag everything. I'm sorry if it's no longer able to be seen and I've gotten slower, but life's taken its toll and I'm trying to fix it. There are some characters I have trouble tagging at all, for example Sokka. I can't... really help that, the characters no longer fit. But please if you ever have problems say something? I try and tag everyone I can even if that's been a no go recently; I just want people to have fun.

I guess that makes sense, but in Sokka's defense, he really tried to reconnect, and really tried to be sincere and apologetic. And for a while there, from my perspective, it did seem to work out (like, for example, in the log with the boggarts).

If I made you uncomfortable tagging your posts, I'm sorry. Sokka didn't perceive Ron to be uninterested in talking to him, just that Ron was about as standoffish and crass as usual. Sokka's generally not the type to get hints if they're not pretty clearly more than hints.

In any case, I'll refrain from here on out, now that I know this. My goal is not to make anyone uncomfortable.

As you've suggested to others, please, if you ever have a problem, say something. I can't know unless you do, and I would have appreciated it much more in a PM than coming here to find this out.

No! It's not your fault and I love trying to tag you and tag back, but it's more... difficult for Ron, I guess? I realized it during our last thread (which is why I haven't tagged back yet, sorry ;;) that Ron struggles not to say something other than conversation there--which is probably why he's just as standoffish and crass.

It's not a problem with you so much as me trying to shake the muse into tagging because I really love Sokka. :c

I, on the other hand, do have to apologize since I have been taking multiple days to a week to reply to tags nowadays. I'm sorry if that is off-putting, and you are always welcome to prod me if you really want quick tags. However, I don't think I can do boomerang tags anymore, not with how big the game has gotten and everything that's been on my plate with school and stuff. So yeah... :/

I started a new job recently, night shift. For the last four years, I've been an office worker, thus getting up at 6 am instead of going to bed then. I took a hiatus to get adjusted.

I do try to tag every castmate I have, except for those who I feel have made it clear they don't want me to tag them. Honestly, there's little point in tagging someone who will just reply once and drop the thread. But whatever, we're here to have fun and if interacting with Harry isn't fun, then that's that, yeah? I do struggle to find a reason why they wouldn't talk to each other on the network, but honestly, that's easier to find a reason for than Harry constantly being hung up on.

I would like to think my activity has gotten better since I've adjusted to this new schedule, but I did just return from dropping four or five months ago. So I haven't had a lot of time yet for Harry to get reacquainted with Ads and to get on with people. But if ever you want me to tag, any-non, and I don't, drop me a message.

I'll say this: I'm surprised that Harry-mun came back after Ron-mun publicly said she was happy when Harry dropped.

I said that as a character growth thing and discussed it with Mary in the same plurk because I realized it sounded wrong. Honestly, I love having a Harry around, but without Harry around Ron was actually pushed to try and do things more. That's all. But Mary got the same vibe and I explained my actual meaning to it right there in the plurk.

And as far as I know that was understood.

I got that at the time, that you didn't mean it like "OH GOD, I HATE HARRY-MUN, GO AWAY" but come on. There is no way to spin that so it's not flat out rude.

I sure wouldn't want to play Harry to a Ron that came right out and said they prefer playing Ron without a Harry. That's all I'm saying. Hell, I wouldn't want to play anyone with anyone who came out and told me they prefer playing without my character around, no matter what their reason was. So I'm surprised she came back to play Harry, that's all. I wouldn't have.

And for the record, Ron grows as a character throughout HP canon in a lot of ways, with Harry right beside him. You should try to figure out what keeps your Ron from being able to do so and work on that.

Again, I didn't mean it as if I didn't enjoy having Harry or Mary around. That's not it all, it's a different dynamic and that alone. I've played Ron--and even Hermione-- without other castmates around and enjoyed that, too. I'm sorry if I gave the wrong impression, that wasn't the meaning. Actually, during that time I wanted a Harry around, Ron missed his best mate... but it was more meant to be a 'hey, he can survive as a character and develop' sort of thing than trying to go 'lol don't need harry'. Again, I'm sorry it didn't come off that way.

And he does and had. But we only see Ron with Harry and Hermione in place in canon. It's interesting to see with them absent (even if, admittedly, Ron tags/tagged Hernione often). Harry being around or not around hasn't been a hindrance at all.

It's great that you talked it over with Mary and the two of you are cool now. Seriously, that's great. It sucks when friends fight.

But that doesn't mean an impartial observer can't have an opinion on what went down there. And even understanding your explanation, I wouldn't have come back to play Harry to your Ron, if it were me. That's all.
