[D] Haa. Haa. Haa.

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Temporary Change: To reduce the strain on Dreamwidth's servers new entries will go up when a post reaches 3,000. Please refrain from spamming so we can stretch these entries for a little longer. We don't need several threads soliciting photo evidence of body parts, and we already know that we only care about yaoi. Failure to comply will only result in deletions and butthurt. "People may notice site slowdown/cache error pages. We're working on fixing. You can help: finish posts at 3k comments, not 5k or more." - Dreamwidth@Twitter

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

Hey! Do not post anything outside of these threads. It will be deleted.
Go be cute and fun and fun and funny over here.

Woah, what? You've had people PMing you trying to tell you what to do in the scene? Holy shit, I would be out of that scene yesterday if anybody did that to me.

I'm going to sound like a stupid shut-in or whatever, but I actually mean this: you mean it's not common for people to PM you with very forceful suggestions about what your character should do to theirs? I've never thought of it as good practice, but I honestly thought it kind of came with the territory. Usually I try not to mind it and to just shrug it off unless there're things I also think would work out well, because I figure okay, maybe the other person has some kinks they'd like brought in, fine, let them mention it (I make an effort to look into the other person's likes/dislikes list and to include some of the favorites, but sometimes there is no list, so I figure okay, they're telling me in PM and being awkward about it.)

I dislike it when they get really pushy about it, though, or when it gets down to PA tilding. It probably isn't meant to be PA, but when people throw in, "(character) should totally do X to mine ~ ", I get a bad feeling.

No. PMing people like that is not cool, and not common, at least in my experience. Though there are a few people around TLH who I could see pulling that shit. They are not people I tag though as I feel feel they are kind of Awful.

It's one thing to send someone you're tagging for the first time to let them know of anything you find squicky or triggering if you don't want to muck up your tag with an ooc note, that's totally fine. But if you're getting into pushy cater to my kink territory, especially with that 'cutesy worded bullshit~' then yeah. I would ignore them. If they keep PMing you, report them to the mods for harassment because that is annoying as hell.

I tend to exchange PMs more along the lines of "my character's going to do this probably, is that cool". I've never had someone tell me what my character should do.

I have never had anyone at tlh do that to me, no. As to whether it's common here or not, I honestly have no idea. This is the first time I've seen anyone say it, and I'm sorry you've had that experience playing here. You shouldn't have to put up with any ooc behavior you find intrusive or offensive. My suggestion to people who want to puppet master other people's characters is that they go write themselves some fanfic, because what you're describing is rude and entitled. Take this for whatever it's worth. You wouldn't be out of line for dropping those threads or explaining to them that they don't get to play your character for you.
