[D] Haa. Haa. Haa.

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Temporary Change: To reduce the strain on Dreamwidth's servers new entries will go up when a post reaches 3,000. Please refrain from spamming so we can stretch these entries for a little longer. We don't need several threads soliciting photo evidence of body parts, and we already know that we only care about yaoi. Failure to comply will only result in deletions and butthurt. "People may notice site slowdown/cache error pages. We're working on fixing. You can help: finish posts at 3k comments, not 5k or more." - Dreamwidth@Twitter

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

Not really.

That particular Mod happens to disable their plurk from to time so there's nothing out of the ordinary there.

i'd really like to see a different kind of game in the exact same setting.

I would really like to see this game re-launch...maybe it just needs a different set of mods to breathe fresh air into it?

I think there would need to be some highly energetic and active mods on board to make the needed changes and combat the cloud the game ended up under for it to have a chance.

As someone who played there for a little while the biggest problems I had with it were:

- there was no real ic incentive for characters to buy time with each other so they would all have sex on the sly instead. The entertainer aspect ended up being just window dressing in practice outside of the occasional virginity auction.

- the mystique of the setting felt neutered by little things like all the npcs being always stuck in human form and the general lack of day to day background magic. The game didn't play up the wonder of the town being a playground for magical beings nearly enough.

As another player who played there:

-Definitely agreeing on the IC incentive. They were all trying to save up to pay off their own debts. There was no reason to pay that kind of money to spend time with one another, and there were no PCs who were citizens of the town rather than property of their households, or NPCs who could be socked.

Maybe if someone reopened it there could be an option for people who didn't have that debt but were stuck there anyway. I was only at the game a little while but I really liked the premise, and I wish I could've played more with it.

One possibility would be that the characters who have no debt successfully paid off their debt in the past and have been living there since because they are unable to go home.

Then the kinder-natured characters who have been through the entertainer experience might be inclined to buy time with characters to help them out. Characters who are jerks can buy time with characters to troll them. "Oh, that's the love of your life? Okay, I've decided who I'm buying time with tonight~"
