nowhere on op there's a mention of dwrp, they're talking social media in general. they literal asked why this is a craze everywhere. none of the people replying mentioned dwrp either. only now i found ONE extra comment replying to a third person mentioning plurk.
but even if they had mentioned dwrp, the point is that this fad comes exactly from the same place that stanley cups did. yeah capitalism exists yadda yadda but there's a new way on how people engage with hobbies and collecting and these dolls, just like the cups, are part of that.
