Does anyone else waffle between knowing what their character would do with a key decision in a thread? If there's two options both one might be slightly more IC or one might be rushing something that could be better as a slow burn? How do you usually decide?

I've tried going with what I think is the best or the most fun but sometimes that ends up being a poor choice for the actual thread. Usually I find out the other person was really expecting the other option and I zigged when I should have zagged.
