coming in late to recommend that you go and have a couple of sessions with a trainer in a gym to learn proper form. you don't have to keep going but it's so much easier and safer to learn from someone in person than trying to do it yourself from videos or guides. if you keep going with the exercise it's also good to occasionally have a trainer session to "top up" your learning or get some feedback on your form from a qualified person.
